What is GuildWard?
GuildWard is a Discord Access, Verification & Trust Platform. It lets communities build modular entrance flows, protect new members after verification, route uncertain cases to reviewers and understand every resulting access action.
Is GuildWard another CAPTCHA bot?
CAPTCHA is one available step. A GuildWard flow can also include rules, forms, linked accounts, Age Assurance, Identity Verification, probation, Smart Shield and Manual Review.
Does GuildWard stop every malicious user?
No security product can guarantee that. GuildWard combines configurable friction, deterministic controls, contextual risk detection and accountable review so communities can reduce risk and respond proportionately.
Can I rename the GuildWard bot or upload a custom avatar?
Yes. Pro servers can assign GuildWard a server-specific display name and avatar from the dashboard. Each server is configured independently.
Does Custom Bot Identity create a separate Discord application?
No. It changes the bot member profile inside the selected server. The underlying verified Discord application and service remain GuildWard.
What happens to Custom Bot Identity if I downgrade?
GuildWard restores its standard server name and avatar through a durable reset job. The saved custom configuration remains inactive and can be manually reapplied after Pro access returns.
Verification
What happens when verification fails?
The configured flow can offer a retry, request another step, keep access restricted, open Manual Review or direct the member to community support. Expired private links can be replaced through the Discord verification route.
Can members appeal or contact moderators?
Communities define their support and reconsideration route. GuildWard displays that instruction on relevant failure and review states.
Are members notified about review decisions?
Yes. Approval, approval with probation and requests for more information always attempt a member notification. For denial or continued restriction, the community can notify the member or choose proactively silent handling; notification is the default. Silent handling still preserves the truthful status, support route, Activity and Audit.
What happens if a denied member leaves and rejoins?
Every rejoin starts a fresh membership generation and cannot reuse an old verification session. Pro Rejoin Guard can additionally preserve an explicit adverse or unresolved decision, keeping the returning member Restricted or routing them back to review according to the server's time-bounded policy. It is server-scoped, not a global blacklist.
Does GuildWard ask for passwords or QR-code login?
Never. Administrator sign-in uses Discord OAuth, and member flows never ask for a Discord password or QR-code login.
Smart Shield AI
Does GuildWard use AI?
Smart Shield uses AI-assisted contextual risk detection for eligible new-member activity after deterministic checks. It returns structured security indicators to community policy.
Can AI ban members?
Smart Shield never acts as an AI-only ban engine and cannot be the sole basis for a permanent ban. High-risk automated responses require deterministic support, an enabled policy and available Discord permissions.
What happens when Smart Shield limits are reached?
Model calls pause while CAPTCHA, rules, rate controls and deterministic protection continue. Prepaid capacity is opt-in, and automatic overage is disabled by default.
Privacy
Is the Free plan advertisement-free?
Yes. No plan contains display ads, sponsored verification, affiliate redirects or marketing pixels on member routes.
Does GuildWard track users across servers?
GuildWard does not build a global alt-account database by default or create a cross-server behavioral advertising profile. Customer evidence remains scoped to its authorized organization and server use.
Does GuildWard store IP addresses?
GuildWard minimizes raw IP retention and can use keyed, derived identifiers for rate limiting. Exact security retention and lawful exceptions are described in the Privacy Policy.
Is customer content used to train AI?
No. Customer content is not used to train Smart Shield models.
Billing
How does pricing work?
Free costs €0. Community costs €3.99 per server monthly or €39 annually. Pro costs €9.99 per server monthly or €99 annually. Age Assurance, Identity Verification and SMS are usage-priced external services.
Is a credit card required for Free?
No. Free requires no credit card and remains advertisement-free.
Age and Identity
Does GuildWard store identity documents?
No. Supported providers host document and biometric collection. GuildWard stores the minimum result, provider reference and expiry needed by the configured flow.
Is Age Declaration the same as Age Assurance?
No. Age Declaration is a member's statement. Age Assurance is an external provider's result about a configured threshold. The community must select a method appropriate to its legal obligations.
Is KYC included in a subscription?
No. Identity and KYC provider checks are usage-based because method and regional costs vary.
Discord Permissions
What Discord permissions are required?
Permissions depend on enabled features. Role reconciliation needs Manage Roles and correct hierarchy. Custom Bot Identity needs Change Nickname. Private fallback and notifications need appropriate channel visibility and messaging permission. Setup Health explains each requirement in plain language.
Is GuildWard affiliated with Discord?
No endorsement or affiliation is implied. GuildWard integrates with Discord APIs as an independent service, and Discord remains a third-party platform.
Support
How do community administrators get help?
Administrators can use documentation and the support level included with their plan. Pro includes priority support, while high-volume deployments can add dedicated onboarding and security review.
How does a member get help?
The verification route displays the community's configured support instruction. Membership and moderation decisions belong to that community; GuildWard support handles operation of the verification service.
